“Answering the Call: Mentorship in 911” is a breakout session designed to highlight the transformative power of mentorship within 911 centers. In a job that asks so much of our people, mentorship is key to developing confident, skilled professionals and future leaders. This session will explore the essential role of mentors in guiding team members through challenges, helping them sharpen their decision-making, communication, and leadership abilities. Attendees will learn how to build effective mentor-mentee relationships, foster a culture of growth, and create lasting impacts on both individual and team performance. Whether you’re a seasoned leader or new to the field, this session will offer actionable insights to help you become a more effective mentor and support the next generation of 911 professionals.
Learners in the class will:
- Identify key roles and responsibilities of mentors and mentees within the 911 communications center
· Explain the importance of mentorship in enhancing team performance and communication skills in high-pressure environments
· Assess the impact of mentorship on staff retention and job satisfaction in 911 communications
